Special Project

MFV is looking for their next 2018 Special Project host…

All 2018 registered agencies are encouraged to apply!

Due Date: July 1st, for your proposal to be submitted to the Missions Fest office.

About the Special Project

For many years it has become a tradition to give people an opportunity to participate in a “hands on” project for the Missions Fest conference. This involves collecting articles in kits for a needy group of people. Examples of past projects include health kits, school kits, refugee kits and camp kits.

If this is of interest to your agency, we would like your proposal. Send us a description of your proposed project, listing specific descriptions of the items to be collected, including size and quantity of each item. The number of items could be from 8 to 12 with a total value of $25 – $35. Specify the type of container it should be submitted in. e.g. drawstring bag or shoebox. Kits may be specifically for children or adults.

Special Project Poster

Missions Fest will advertise this project throughout the year and collect kits during the conference weekend. On the Sunday afternoon at approximately 3 PM your agency needs to be ready with a truck and people to load the kits and move them to your own storage facility for distribution from there.  Cost of distribution belongs to your organization.

Missions Fest usually makes up an 8.5 x 11 poster. This requires photos with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. If your agency would like to provide the publicity materials, we would provide you with the Missions Fest logo. Check out last year’s poster: special-project-poster_mcc.

The organization must be represented at a booth in the exhibition hall throughout the weekend. To register your organization and to purchase a booth please email exhibit@missionsfestvancouver.ca.

Participation in Elementary School Field Trip Rally

We request two presentations:

  1. A five-minute presentation about the special project at the open session (9 am) of the School Field Trip on the Friday of the conference in January. This would explain who the collection is for and why these people need the items collected.
  2. A workshop about the special project to middle school children (Grades 6-8) on the Friday morning, after the opening session (10 am – 12 noon.) You would present the same 30 minute workshop to three different groups, rotating through your seminar room with a 5-minute break in-between.

One week after the conference, Missions Fest requires the collecting agency to report on the number of kits collected. Photos and a final report on the distribution would also be appreciated.

Due Date

July 1st is the due date for your proposal to be in to the Missions Fest office.

Call or email if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your consideration.
