2017 Special Project Results

Thank you to our 2017 Special Project hosts: Mennonite Central Committee – BC  for collecting relief kits during the 2017 Justice & The Gospel Conference.

How many relief kits were collected?  325!

THANK YOU to attendees for taking the time to participate and unite in God’s mission.

How will the relief kits be used?

The kits will be used to help families whose lives have been disrupted by war or disaster. People effected by war and natural disasters are sometimes forced to spend all their resources on food, water and shelter. The cost to purchase hygiene related items in the local context is expensive and beyond their means.

Kits in warehouse:

During the 2017 conference, MCC-BC collected soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, nail clippers, bandages and sanitary pads.  To these materials, their Material Warehouse will add laundry soap, bath towels, and combs and pack them into buckets (photo on the left).

These fully packed relief kits are being stored in MCC BC’s warehouse, ready to be shipped at a moment’s notice. They will be sent when an MCC partner in one of over 50 countries where MCC works makes a request for kits.

Did YOU miss out this year but still wanted to contribute to the Special Project?

MCC-BC welcomes donations to complete the kits at mccbc.ca/donate, where you can indicate in the comments box that the donation should go toward Missions Fest Relief Kit Completion.
