[vimeo]https://vimeo.com/63498145[/vimeo]It’s hard to believe that two months have passed since we gathered together at Canada Place and celebrated the 30th anniversary of Missions Fest. There was an aggregate attendance of 35,027 people who attended during the three days of Missions Fest 2013. It was a joy to be together and a time of challenge and blessing as we heard the speakers, took in the seminars or films, visited the booths, and gathered with old and new friends. Thank you to each one who came and supported Missions Fest.
Let me share a couple of my highlights from 2013. It was a joy to see hundreds of youth making a commitment to pray for the world by using the book, Operation World, as a prayer guide. I was encouraged by the great team of young people who came with Russell Stendal to show the film La Montaña, and I was blessed by each of the speakers who shared with us. As always, it was amazing to see how people came together to volunteer their time to serve as greeters, ushers, seminar hosts, movers, coat checkers, and agency representatives. There is nothing like watching this all come together and be used by God to touch many lives.
Be watching for stories and pictures of the January conference, as well as our calendar of events that will take place in the Spring. The next major meeting is the Annual General Meeting, to be held on May 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Cariboo Road Christian Fellowship.
It is because of the faithful support of God’s people, together with our sponsoring churches and participating agencies that we can meet at the Convention Centre. Once again, thank you to each person who came out and was a part of this visible witness of the unity of the Body of Christ, as we gather together under the banner of the Great Commission, celebrating what God is doing in the world through global and local missions.
