To meet with fellow teachers by coming alongside to share experience, expertise, and ideas, both educationally and spiritually.

Overall Goals: to build friendships and cultural appreciation
Specific Goals:
During the Conversational English Seminars: Week 1
- to lead seminars in Conversational English that gives opportunities for speaking and listening
- to introduce teachers to many creative teaching strategies that can be applied to teaching English.
- to provide exposure to teachers whose mother tongue is English
- to work in small groups of 6 - 8 teachers
During the Conference on “Teaching Strategies for Moral Development”: Week 2
- to continue developing Conversational English
- to share a teaching-learning philosophy that is student-centred and allows for discovery learning.
- to introduce teachers to several creative teaching strategies that can be applied to most subjects, and especially teaching the English language & literature, and the humanities.
- to provide through the plenary sessions, the background of philosophies that have shaped societies historically, including societies that have used the Bible, as a foundation for moral development.
- to introduce one model of Curriculum Development that can be applied to teaching moral development.
- to create lessons on moral development for specific age groups.
- to provide a variety of Special Interest Seminars by professional teachers who have done research and/or development in some area of education.
- to provide a forum for local teachers to share with fellow teachers some of the curriculum they have created during the conference.
- to provide opportunities for local and visiting teachers to dialogue on matters that are both professional and spiritual.
Schedule of the Conference over a two-week period
Hold one week of seminars in Conversational English (five days, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm) followed by five days of a conference on “Teaching Strategies for Moral Development” (9:00 am to 4:00 pm).
The History of the International Summer Institutes for Teachers
Canadian teams of professional teachers have been holding these institutes in Ukraine (1993, 1994), in Russia (1995, 2002, 2004), in China (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002) and in Kazakhstan (1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2003).
