WAYS TO HELP AT MISSIONS FEST

Here are four ways to apply as a volunteer:

  • Apply Online and select the timeslots you want to work for.

Print this volunteer brochure to distribute it at your church.

Areas we need volunteers:

During the Conference:

  1. Audio-Visual Production: camera operators, switchers, directors, power point producer. Orientation session in Dec. -TBA.
  2. Billeting:  provide accommodation for out-of-town missions guests.
  3. Children’s Helper:  assist with regist-ration, activities, crowd control, etc. Home church references required.
  4. Coat /Back Pack Check: No coat/back pack check will be offered at our 2010 conference.
  5. Information:  greet and assist people with information and directions. Know the program guide magazine and floor plans.
  6. Move-in/Move-out:  assist with the moving of equipment/supplies Thursday, Friday morning and take-down on Sunday afternoon.
  7. On-Site Office:  assist MF staff, answer questions from the public and agencies, etc.
  8. Parking:  assist in the parking of vehicles outdoors in the Parking Lot.
  9. PowerPoint Operator:  prepare/operate PowerPoint for Plenary Sessions and Youth Rallies. Experience is necessary.
  10. Prayer:  assist in the Prayer Room.
  11. Seminar host:  assist presenter as needed, introduce speaker, help with seating, crowd control, evaluations, etc.
  12. Shuttle Bus Driver: Class 4 license and driver’s abstract (from Motor Vehicle Branch) required. Also, you can drive a Hydrogen vehicle. learn more....
  13. Usher:  assist people to find seats in plenary sessions, collect offering, etc.
  14. Audio /Video Sales: sell CDs & DVDs of the speakers.
  15. Writers. Report on events
  16. Statistician. Collect simple statistics during the festival weekend.

During the Year:

  1. Distribution:  Assist with the distribution of bulletin inserts and magazines to churches.
  2. Office Help: Help with mailings and other office tasks. Call volunteers and churches.

More on Video Production:

Video Director : Direct a small team of camera operators and PowerPoint operator.

Camera Operator : Camera operators for both multi-camera and single-camera recordings. Training will be provided in December: TBA.

PowerPoint Operator : To control the plenary session screen presentations.

Production assistant : Assists the director with the live production, cueing and playing all needed media recordings.

Set up Thursday: 3pm onwards. Light dinner will be provided..

Tear down Sunday night : About 3:30pm till 7pm.

Audio / Duplication Production

Audio Production Team Leaders : Assist with training and supervising the audio team.

Audio Operators : Help to setup and operate small PA systems and projectors.

Audio Editors : Recording and editing of Seminars and Plenary Sessions. Missions Fest will be providing training at a soon to be announced date.

Duplication Team Leader : Assist with training and supervising the duplication team.

Duplication : Duplicating and labelling DVDs and CDs.

Audio Video Sales

Cashiers : Take enquiries, orders, payments and operate  the cashier machines.

Stock Handlers : Manage stock and completing of orders of CDs and DVDs.

Marketing Manager/Assistant : Assist with marketing of DVD and CD sales.

Training for Video and Audio Production

There is an earlier training to be provided for some of these technical areas. It is oriented to the Audio /Video people of churches. Technical training for the conference will be announced soon.

Earlier training: November 7 2009, 8:15 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
